MOVING YOUR PETS
Don't forget to take special care with your family pets. Most pets get very stressed during a move.

When moving a distance be sure and make arrangement for the lodging of your animals by calling ahead. The internet is a good source for this information.

Never leave your animals in a locked car.

To avoid the loss of your pet the purchase of an ID tag with the name of a relative or friend, their area code and phone number could be the only link between you and your lost pet while going through a move.

Once settled in your new area replace the old ID with your last name, area code and phone number. Our own dogs have been returned to us because they had on their ID tags.

Our local county shelter took in over 16,000 animals lost and stray animals last year and put to sleep over 11,000 animals. Don't let this happen to your family pet.

Even if your animals are kept inside at all times it is still important they have on ID tags for the one time they do get out.

Check out the laws in your new area pertaining to pets and lease laws.

If your animals do get lost check with the local shelter every day.

Take pictures of your animals on a regular basis just in case they ever do need to be identified.

Please, neuter and spay all your animals. Next time you go looking for a pet, please check with the local animal shelter, animal rescue and animal adoption groups. Your local vet is a good source for this information.
